The Izar laboratory studies mechanisms of cancer immune evasion and metastatic organotropism. Our work is inspired by fundamental questions in cancer biology and challenges in the clinical care of patients with metastatic cancers. We leverage, develop and implement single-cell genomics tools and dissect tumor heterogeneity and cellular interactions of human tissues across space and time, with the goal to discover novel therapeutic dependencies. We model these observations in comprehensive perturbation screens across a spectrum of patient-derived models.
